The Historic House residence has a unique history in the city of Boulder. Here is a brief history of 1227 High Street...
Originally built in 1870. According to the City of Boulder this house is the 8th oldest in the city. The first owners of the property were the Pomeroy family. They lived there until 1884, when it was sold to Sylvester Downer, an early attorney in Boulder. In 1892 the property was sold to the Cheney family. Mr. Cheney was the president of the First National Bank in Boulder for many years. In 1898 the city directory listed General John N. Ives as residing on the property. He was the former Attorney General of Kansas and was elected Boulder County Attorney after he arrived in approximately 1894. General Ives served in the Civil War and lived in Boulder until 1926. Another prominent person who lived at 1227 High Street was James Duce who was appointed the State Inspector of Oils by the Governor.

This original historic structure has been completely refurbished on the inside. It has been expanded to include a master bedroom suite on the main level, and the basement has two bedrooms, and a family room.
